Beef Stroganoff

Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. extra-lean ground beef
  • 1 1/2 lb. extra-lean ground beef
  • 3 tbsp iSpice WellnessTM Meat Sau
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, divided
  • 4 cups white button mushrooms, quartered
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup skim milk
  • 1 cup low fat sour cream
  • 1 lb. low sodium gnocchi
  • 1/4 cup fresh Italian parsley, roughly chopped

Directions

Step 1

Heat olive oil in a large pan over high heat. Brown the beef with onions and iSpice WellnessTM Meat Sauce Seasoning* until almost cooked through. Remove from pan with a slotted spoon and reserve on a dish. Keep oil and meat juices in pan over high heat.

Step 2

Pan sear mushrooms, cooking them 2-3 minutes per side without stirring too much until mushrooms are deep caramel brown.

Step 3

Deglaze with white wine and reduce until almost dry, stirring and scraping up all the brown bits stuck to the pan.

Step 4

Stir in the flour until well mixed, followed by milk, stirring constantly to prevent clumps.

Step 5

Add beef back in and simmer until very thick, about 10 minutes.

Step 6

Finish by stirring in sour cream and heat through. Remove from heat, do not boil.

Step 7

Meanwhile, fill a large pot halfway with water and boil.

Step 8

Serve gnocchi hot with fresh parsley garnish.
