How to make Buttery Garlic Green Beans

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Directions

Step 1

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil.

Step 2

Add the green beans to the pot and blanch them for 2-3 minutes, or until they are tender but still crisp.

Step 3

Drain the green beans and immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them sit for a minute or two, then drain them again.

Step 4

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

Step 5

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the garlic is fragrant.

Step 6

Add the blanched green beans to the skillet and toss them with the garlic butter until they are well coated.

Step 7

Cook the green beans for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until they are heated through.

Step 8

Season the green beans with salt and black pepper, to taste.

Step 9

Serve the buttery garlic green beans hot as a side dish with your favorite meal.
